Government Advisory Panel SME providing operational expertise for reverse-engineering biomanufactured products and evaluating solutions to synthetic biology threats.
Biothreat Detection Pipelines
SQL/Python/Nextflow bioinformatics pipelines for rapid biological materials of concern (BMOC) detection from large biothreat datasets. Enhanced early warning capabilities for DoW personnel.
Landscape Community Genomics (PhD)
NSF-funded research developing ML classifiers for microbiome stress signals via 16S metagenomics and mapping disease transmission corridors using RADseq/mtDNA across 23 elk populations in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.
High-Arctic Metagenomic Sampling
Led 3 summers of remote fieldwork in Greenland (NSF-IRES) collecting 16S/18S/ITS metagenomic samples. Managed international collaborations with Danish researchers at CENPERM.
